We work closely with mission-driven organizations and individuals, with a particular focus on employment law, human rights law, governance, and the legal needs of charities and not-for-profit organizations.
We represent both employers and employees. Our clients include charities, non-profits, trade unions, and community organizations, as well as individuals seeking advice and representation in employment and human rights matters. We are passionate about helping organizations advance their missions while navigating complex legal challenges; and we are committed to supporting individuals in protecting their rights in the workplace and beyond.
We are seeking an experienced Employment & Human Rights Lawyer who is interested in meaningful work, values flexibility and autonomy, and is excited to contribute to a growing practice serving the public interest.

This role is well-suited to an experienced lawyer seeking flexibility, meaningful work, and the opportunity to contribute to a growing practice serving mission-driven organizations and individuals.
The successful candidate will work with a broad range of clients, including non-profit organizations, charities, trade unions, and individual employees. Many of our clients are organizations working to advance equity, human rights, gender justice, labour rights, and other important social causes.
The work involves advice and representation to both employers (in the non-profit/charity sector) and employees.
The lawyer will be expected to manage files independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
Areas of work include:
- Reviewing/drafting/negotiating employment contracts
- Terminations and severance matters
- Human rights and harassment matters (both in workplace and other contexts governed by human rights legislation)
- Employment litigation and dispute resolution
- Day-to-day HR and employment law advice to organizational clients
- Training and education for employers, boards, and leadership teams on employment and human rights topics
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
- Have approximately 5 or more years of employment law experience (either management-side or employee-side)
- Have in depth knowledge of employment and human rights law
- Be capable of managing files independently
- Possess strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and client-service skills
- Be comfortable working directly with clients and developing trusted advisor relationships
- Have excellent judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach
- Demonstrate a commitment to trauma-informed practice, equity and inclusion
Experience advising non-profit organizations, charities, trade unions, or other mission-driven organizations is considered an asset.
Ability to practice in French is also considered an asset.
What We Offer

- Flexible hours
- Opportunities for meaningful and engaging work
- Opportunities to contribute to and help shape a growing firm committed to social justice and community service
