Salt and Pepper Services is hiring experienced chefs to prepare high-quality, customized meals for busy families in their homes. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for chefs who enjoy working independently while delivering a premium, personalized experience.
About the Role
You’ll shop for ingredients, cook multiple meals in a client’s kitchen, and package everything for easy reheating throughout the week. Our clients are families with demanding schedules who value healthy, delicious, ready-to-eat meals.
This role is ideal for chefs who are organized, personable, and confident working solo in a home environment.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to client homes in DC and Northern Virginia (mileage reimbursed)
- Shop for ingredients and prepare multiple meals in one visit
- Customize menus based on dietary needs and preferences
- Package, label, and store meals for the week
- Keep a clean, professional workspace in the client’s kitchen
- Track grocery expenses using a simple mobile app
What We’re Looking For
- Solid cooking experience (professional kitchen or private chef work)
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong organization and time management
- Friendly, professional communication style
- Valid ServSafe Certification
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Culinary training or extensive kitchen experience
- Experience with meal prep, family-style cooking, or special diets
