SAIC is seeking Software Engineer API Developers to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.

Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.

The Software Engineer API Developer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the ongoing enhancement and optimization of MARS data-services and the MARS API framework and architecture
  • The Senior API Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs that meet the evolving requirements of MARS data owners and enhance the overall system's functionality
  • Provide system enhancement support for MARS FMI data and intelligence targeting, focusing on Object-Based Intelligence (OBI)
  • Develops and documents innovative, repeatable, and automated services aligned with the MARS
  • Development Release Plan
  • Tasked with ensuring that each enhancement progresses towards the identified user requirements with a proactive approach in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, delivering robust API solutions, and contributing to the strategic vision of the MARS program

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • One of the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional – Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
  • Bachelors degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and 5 years or more relevant experience (will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience in developing and managing APIs, ensuring API security, and optimizing API performance
  • Proficiency in using RESTful and SOAP APIs, integrating third-party services, and developing API documentation
  • Strong understanding of API gateway technologies and data exchange protocols

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
