We are seeking a highly skilled Manager – Transportation Systems Management for Transportation to lead strategic initiatives within our Supply Chain organization. In this pivotal role, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of our Transportation Management System (TMS), from envisioning new features to executing projects that empower internal transportation teams, carriers, and facility users. Your strategic leadership will have a direct impact on our ability to reduce transportation spend, enhance delivery experiences, and ultimately, reinforce Cardinal Health's commitment to being healthcare's most trusted partner. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, achieving significant cost optimization, and ensuring comprehensive shipment visibility across our vast network.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a technology product team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration, overseeing the full lifecycle of our Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Champion the transportation product strategy, defining both short-term tactical plans and long-range strategic roadmaps to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Design, scope, and deploy innovative solutions that strategically enhance and transform global supply chain management and systems, focusing on cost savings, network standardization, and process improvements.
- Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration to gather detailed requirements, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and conduct thorough cost‑benefit analyses to ensure maximum return on investment.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues, effectively mitigating risks to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions.
- Champion the successful adoption of technology solutions ensuring seamless integration and user engagement.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams within an Agile framework, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of initiatives that align with evolving business needs and future strategic capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (preferred)
- Advanced degree (desired)
- 8+ years experience in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain roles (preferred)
- Project and Product Management experience and knowledge of Agile practices
- Technology‑grounded experience that includes ERPs, TMS, WMS platforms (preferred)
- People leadership experience (preferred)
- Travel expectations: Up to 25%
Salary Range & Benefits
Anticipated salary range: $105,100 - $150,100
