Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security systems to protect various applications.
Duties
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot a wide variety of security equipment such as alarm systems, CCTV, access control, intercoms, gates, automated systems and computer networks
- Install new systems and upgrades with accuracy to meet client needs and expectations
- Uphold company and industry standards for quality and within recognized guidelines
- Maintain accurate service records, including detailed notes and inventory
- Work at heights on ladders and lifts, in attics and crawl spaces, as well as lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to work safely in a construction site environment is a must
- Install low voltage cables in both residential and commercial buildings.
- Utilize low voltage wiring and power tools to connect sensors and other components.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations throughout all installation processes.
- Survey and evaluate location, identifying installation requirements, laying-out plan. install equipment; run wiring; calibrate equipment.
- Train end users
- Resolve client concerns and provide exceptional customer service, making recommendations where appropriate to ensure optimal system function
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the security industry, with in-depth knowledge of IP Cameras, access Control and Intrusion systems
- Must have experience with low voltage, CCTV and hand tools
- Experience as Alarm Technician an asset
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install equipment is required
- Comfort with working at heights on ladders and lifts, in attics and crawl spaces
- Job involves physical labor, use of power tools, and requires ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to work safely in a construction site environment
- High degree of accuracy and thoroughness
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
- Motivated self-starter and effective team player
- Must have a clean criminal record, and a valid Driver's License
- Maintain confidentiality of personal information
