đź“‹ Professional Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist for a travel contract role supporting acute care hospital settings in Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, and Terrace, British Columbia.
The Occupational
Therapist will assess, treat, and support patients to enhance functional independence, safety, and quality of life while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in compliance with BC practice standards. 🧾 Qualifications ✔ Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution(Preferred) ✔ Registered with or eligible for registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) ✔ Previous experience in acute care or hospital settings preferred ✔ Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, patient safety, and evidence‑based practice ✔ Excellent clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills ✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment ✔ Valid CPR certification (asset) 🔍 Key Responsibilities - Assess patients’ functional abilities, cognitive status, and psychosocial needs
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide interventions to improve mobility, self‑care, and functional independence
- Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and BC regulatory guidelines 📍 Position Details Locations: Terrace, Fort Nelson & Dawson Creek, British Columbia Contract Duration: ASAP – 31 DEC (with option to extend) Schedule: 80 hours bi‑weekly; shifts as per facility requirements Pay Range: Competitive and commensurate with experience ($48-$58/hour) Travel time pay = Regular PAY Housing and travel accommodations covered OT and Holiday pay 🌟 Why Join Us?
