Job Summary

Rombouts Acres is seeking dedicated and hardworking Farm Hands to support daily operations on our agricultural property. The ideal candidate will assist with Barn work, in both chicken barns and hog barns, field help on are cash crop operation, general yard maintenance, along with opportunity to grow in areas such as manufacturing, equipment maintenance and equipment operating . This role offers an opportunity to work with Livestock as well as outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful management of the farm’s crops and livestock. A strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and physical stamina are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Caring for livestock, monitoring heard and flock health and well being.
• Responsible for cleanliness in and around barns.
• Assist with sorting and shipping of hogs
• operate small engine and hand tools, such as weed whippers and lawn mowers, along with some smaller tractors
• Operate farm machinery and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery, tools, as well as report any issues in a timely manor
• Use hand tools and power tools for various tasks including fencing, building structures, or repairs
• Conduct general farm upkeep such as cleaning equipment, maintaining pathways, and managing waste
• Follow proper safety and humane protocols when working with livestock
• Follow safety protocols when handling heavy lifting or operating heavy machinery

Qualifications

• Prior experience or knowledge in livestock, agriculture, or related fields is preferred but not required
• Positive attitude on a daily basis is a must.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation is a plus
• Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as needed
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.32-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
