UX UI Designer

We are recruiting for a UX/UI Designer with front-end development experience for a client based in Markham, Ontario. This is a 6 month contract opportunity, and may have opportunities to extend. Our client is currently located in Downtown Markham but will be moving to North York (near HWY 401/404) in the Fall 2026. This is a hybrid position, working in office 3 days a week.

The UX/UI Designer will combine user-centered design with modern front-end development to build intuitive, responsive, and accessible web applications. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate user needs and business requirements into high-quality digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design & User Experience

• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes aligned with user needs and business goals.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure design consistency, usability, and accessibility.

Front-End Development

• Build responsive and scalable web interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Integrate front-end components with backend APIs and services.
• Optimize applications for performance and cross-browser compatibility.

Collaboration

• Work closely with backend engineers to support integration and define API contracts.
• Participate in technical discussions and code reviews.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end development.
• Experience in UX/UI design and front-end development for web applications.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern framework (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and usability principles.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs.
