Job Description

WORLD-CLASS DESIGN. MODERN MANUFACTURING

Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

$55,000–$70,000/year (based on experience and skill level)

At RMD, our purpose is simple:

Drive change to make the world better.

Our niche is even more unique:

We build what isn’t there in the One Health space — supporting environmental, human, and animal innovation.

That means the financial accuracy you maintain and the systems you run directly support solutions that don’t yet exist — new technology, new processes, new impact.

As our company evolves, so does how we operate internally.

Where We’re Headed

We are transitioning from a traditional job shop model to a more structured, production-focused manufacturing environment. That includes:

  • Stronger process discipline
  • Greater efficiency and repeatability
  • Investment in advanced CNC equipment
  • Gradual integration of automation technologies

We’re also implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to strengthen accountability, communication, and execution across the organization.

We’re looking for a hands-on Office Manager who can support this transition by bringing structure, accuracy, and consistency to our financial and administrative operations.

Who We Are

RMD is a Saskatchewan-owned, fully integrated engineering and manufacturing company serving industrial automation, advanced manufacturing, research, and resource development sectors.

Our Saskatoon facility houses high-end CNC technology entering commercialization after years of research and development. We’re not just making parts — we’re scaling innovation.

Our values guide everything we do:

RUTID

  • Respect – WE treat people right
  • Unity – WE win as a team
  • Trust – WE do what we say
  • Integrity – WE do the right thing
  • Drive – WE push forward

The Opportunity

This is a hybrid role combining accounting, administration, and operational support.

You will own the day-to-day financial workflows (payroll, AP, AR) while keeping the office running smoothly and supporting coordination across departments.

This is not a controller role. Strategic accounting and compliance are already supported processes by others. Your role is to execute accurately, stay organized, and keep things moving.

This role requires 3–5+ years of hands-on, full-cycle bookkeeping experience, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and remittances.

Manufacturing experience is a strong asset, particularly for supporting job costing and cost tracking across projects.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations (Primary Focus)

  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Payroll processing, paystubs, and T4 preparation
  • Weekly reporting (cash position, receivables, payables)
  • Bank deposits, EFTs, wires, and reconciliations
  • Credit card tracking, expense reporting, and job costing support
  • GST/PST calculations and filings
  • Coordinate with external accounting firm for reporting and adjustments
  • Support cost tracking in a manufacturing/job-based environment

Administrative & HR Support (Execution, Not Ownership)

  • Execute onboarding/offboarding tasks across systems
  • Maintain employee records and documentation
  • Administer payroll-related changes and benefits updates
  • Prepare ROEs and support payroll compliance
  • Act as internal liaison with third-party HR provider

Shipping & Receiving Support (Asset)

  • Assist with shipment coordination and documentation
  • Support cross-border shipping (customs, HS codes, USMCA)
  • Communicate with vendors, brokers, and internal teams
  • Help resolve discrepancies and track shipments

Office Operations

  • Manage day-to-day administrative flow of the office
  • Reception duties (calls, visitors, mail)
  • Coordinate supplies, vendors, and internal systems
  • Support leadership with scheduling and execution

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Improve administrative and financial workflows
  • Support EOS implementation (tracking, accountability)
  • Help bring structure and consistency to internal processes

You’ll Thrive Here If You:

  • Have strong accounting and payroll experience (essential)
  • Prefer a hands-on, execution-focused role
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Take ownership and follow through consistently
  • Can manage multiple priorities independently
  • Communicate effectively across office and shop environments
  • Adapt as systems, processes, and expectations evolve

Strong assets:

  • Manufacturing or job shop experience
  • Exposure to cost accounting or job costing
  • Experience with ERP systems and QuickBooks
  • Familiarity with shipping/logistics processes

Safety Is Our #1 Priority

While this is an office-based role, you will operate within a manufacturing environment where safety is critical. You will be expected to follow all safety policies when interacting with the shop and operations team.

If you are someone who takes pride in running a tight, organized operation and wants to play a key role in a growing manufacturing company — we want to hear from you.

Apply today and help us build what isn’t there.

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Benefits

  • Dental care
  • Disability insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Extended health care
  • Life insurance
  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
