Job Description

OVERVIEW We are seeking an Advanced Analytics Data Scientist to support distribution analytics within a financial services environment. This role combines data science, analytics, and business-facing communication to help sales and leadership teams make smarter, data-driven decisions.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, building predictive models, creating dashboards, and translating complex insights into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Model: Hybrid, 2 days/week onsite

Contract Duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension or conversion

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Hourly Rate: $73 T4 / $84 Incorporated RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use machine learning and advanced analytics to develop and test new sales strategies.
  • Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify patterns, trends, and business opportunities.
  • Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with data engineers and business analysts to develop data pipelines, analytics tables, and reporting solutions.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations, including Power BI.
  • Assess opportunities to use AI/ML solutions to improve data processing and business insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to business leaders in a clear, practical way.
  • Work closely with investment distribution, sales, analytics, and technology teams.
  • Support broader analytics initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 years of relevant data science, analytics, or advanced analytics experience.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, R, or SAS.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI.
  • Strong data analytics and machine learning experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and translating data into business recommendations.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in banking, financial services, investment management, or financial sales analytics.
  • Knowledge of financial markets or investment products.
  • CFA designation or advanced degree in a relevant field.
