Job Purpose

We are seeking English & Social Studies Teacher for middle school who is responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons to students in Grades 6 to 8, in alignment with the CISCE (ICSE) curriculum. The role focuses on strengthening language skills, developing critical thinking, and building a foundational understanding of history, geography, and civics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Delivery

• Teach English (Grammar, Literature, Composition) and Social Studies (History, Civics, Geography) to Grades 6–8
• Develop students’ reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and communication abilities
• Teach Social Studies using maps, timelines, charts, and real-life examples
• Encourage discussions, debates, and analytical thinking
• Adapt teaching strategies to suit diverse learning levels

2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Implementation

• Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned with ICSE syllabus
• Design engaging classroom activities, worksheets, and projects
• Ensure timely completion of syllabus within the academic calendar
• Incorporate interdisciplinary and activity-based learning approaches

3. Assessment & Evaluation

• Conduct periodic assessments, class tests, and assignments
• Prepare question papers based on ICSE guidelines
• Evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Maintain records of student progress and academic performance
• Provide remedial support to students as needed

4. Classroom Management

• Maintain a structured, disciplined, and positive classroom environment
• Encourage student participation and collaboration
• Address behavioral and learning challenges effectively

5. Student Development

• Promote reading habits through stories, novels, and supplementary materials
• Encourage creative expression through essays, speeches, and presentations
• Build awareness of social, cultural, and civic responsibilities
• Support students in project-based and research-oriented learning

6. Exam Preparation

• Prepare students for school assessments and term examinations
• Conduct revision sessions and practice exercises
• Guide students in answer-writing skills and time management

7. Collaboration & Communication

• Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and workshops
• Collaborate with colleagues for integrated learning activities
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
• Assist in organizing school events, competitions, and assemblies

8. Use of Technology

• Use smart boards, presentations, and digital tools to enhance learning
• Integrate multimedia resources for literature and social studies topics
• Encourage responsible use of educational technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English / Humanities / Social Studies
• B.Ed. (mandatory/preferred as per school policy)

Experience

• 2–4 years of teaching experience in middle school
• Experience with ICSE or similar curriculum preferred

Salary:

As per school norms and candidate experience.
