Job description
About us
ReClick is a boutique performance-marketing agency. We manage paid search for lead-generation and ecommerce businesses across North America. We're adding email and SMS as a full-funnel service, and this is the first hire dedicated to it.
About the role
You own our email and SMS channel end to end. You're the only person doing it. You'll work with the founder on a weekly strategy call and coordinate with our paid search manager. Beyond that, you run your own work. This is not a client-facing role.
Part-time to start, and it grows with the client base. As we add accounts this becomes a bigger seat, and we'd rather grow one person into it than churn through freelancers.
What you'll build
Our clients pay for leads. Most of those leads don't convert in the first few days, and then nothing happens to them. They sit in a CRM and go cold. You build the systems that pick them back up.
The shape of the problems you'll be solving:
- A lead comes in, isn't ready, and gets forgotten. What automatically brings them back, and in which channel? Some of these audiences will never open an email but will answer a text.
- A contact converts. How does the flow know to stop, so we're not still nurturing someone who already bought?
- A client hands you a list of old contacts that's been sitting untouched for two years. How do you mail it without landing in spam?
- The same funnel needs to work for a different industry next month. What do you build once and reuse?
- We're running paid search for the same client. What should the two channels share?
You'll build these in ActiveCampaign, in a separate account per client.
Required, in order
- You've built nurture/lifecycle automation end to end, on your own. Trigger, segmentation, branching, exit logic. Not scheduling broadcasts against someone else's plan.
- You've dealt with deliverability in the real world. A list that went to spam, a domain that needed warming, an inbox placement problem you had to actually fix.
- You're comfortable wiring systems together. Moving data between a CRM and an email platform via native integrations, Zapier, n8n, or an API.
- You write well in English. The work product is emails to North American audiences, so the writing is the job.
- You run without supervision, and you say something when you're stuck.
Strongly preferred
- ActiveCampaign, but it is not a gate. If you've built deep automation in Klaviyo, HubSpot, Marketo, or similar, we expect you'll pick it up in a couple of weeks.
- SMS or WhatsApp automation inside a flow.
- Having worked alongside a paid search team.
- Lead-gen or high-ticket service funnels, not only ecommerce.
Who fits
An automation builder who writes, not a copywriter who schedules sends. Someone who has owned a channel at a small company where the whole thing was theirs, rather than run one slice of it at a big one. You've probably inherited something broken and fixed it, and you can tell us what it costs to run. If you'll tell us an approach won't work, that's a plus. We're small, and there's nobody else here who does this.
Application question(s):
- Paste a link to a screen recording (Loom or similar, ~2–4 minutes) walking us through one or more nurture campaigns you've built. Show the actual flow on screen, and cover: what was unique about it, the hardest problem in it, and what it did for the business.
- Links. Anything else we can open: portfolio, emails you designed, flows you built.
- What have you built that nobody asked you to build? Any domain. It doesn't have to be marketing.
- Tell us about a send that went wrong. What happened, how you found out, and what you did about it.
