About the Engineering Team

Engineers here build the infrastructure and product systems that convert raw multimodal data into usable, high-signal datasets for advanced AI training.

This includes:

• real-time pipelines processing very large audio datasets
• tooling that enables data collection, evaluation, and analysis
• production systems supporting research iteration

The team ships frequently, owns projects end-to-end, and collaborates closely with research, product, and operations.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to help lead development of the company’s product and data platform.

You’ll work on systems that help customers explore, evaluate, and operationalize the datasets used to train their AI models, while partnering closely with researchers building the underlying data pipelines.

This role combines product engineering, backend systems, and applied ML infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build backend systems that process large-scale audio datasets and power internal and customer-facing products
• Lead development of new features across the product stack and ship quickly to production
• Build data pipelines that transform raw signals into structured datasets and insights
• Integrate and evaluate LLM-based and signal-processing systems where useful
• Partner with research and operations teams to improve data collection and iteration loops
• Mentor engineers and help establish technical standards as the engineering team grows
• Stay current with emerging frameworks across backend engineering, data infrastructure, and applied ML

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong backend or full-stack development fundamentals
• Experience building scalable systems and production APIs
• Track record of shipping products that deliver real customer value
• Comfortable working in fast-moving startup environments
• Strong attention to detail and product quality
• Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers

Experience in ML or audio is not required, but curiosity about learning new domains is important.

Nice to Have

• Experience with machine learning systems in production
• Familiarity with signal processing or speech technologies
• Experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives in high-growth startups
