Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Property Operations Manager to oversee our national portfolio from our Ontario office. This role will manage on-site property managers, coordinate leasing efforts, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations across multiple properties.This is a key position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and can confidently manage relationships across teams, tenants, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of residential, commercial, and industrial properties across Canada
- Manage and support on-site property managers to ensure consistent performance and tenant satisfaction
- Coordinate leasing activities, including marketing, advertising, and vacancy management
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize vacancy and maximize rental income
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, contractors, and suppliers
- Liaise with tenants regarding inquiries, concerns, and escalations
- Maintain relationships with local township/municipal personnel and ensure compliance with regulations
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and capital projects across the portfolio
- Monitor property performance and provide regular operational updates to leadership
- Ensure all operations align with company standards and financial objectives
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in property management or real estate operations
- Experience managing multi-site or multi-province portfolios is an asset
- Strong knowledge of leasing, tenant relations, and property operations
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Familiarity with Canadian tenancy regulations across provinces is an asset
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, forecasting, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook for professional communication and reporting
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking across multiple properties
- Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi or Buildium
- Ability to analyze rent rolls, operating statements, and vacancy reports
- Strong data management and reporting capabilities
- Comfortable using digital tools for leasing, advertising, and tenant communications
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
- Performance Bonus: Up to 10–20% based on portfolio performance (occupancy, NOI growth, expense control, leasing targets)
- Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation
