Senior Manager Design

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager – Design will be responsible for leading the solar plant design team, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables for utility-scale and rooftop solar projects. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and compliant solar designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design team for utility-scale, C&I, and rooftop solar EPC projects.
• Prepare and review electrical, structural, and civil designs in compliance with national and international standards.
• Oversee preparation of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layouts, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Optimize plant design for performance, cost, and ease of installation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and resource assessment.
• Liaise with procurement, project execution, and quality teams to ensure alignment of design with project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Manage design documentation, approvals, and change management processes.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and accuracy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 7–8 years of experience in Solar EPC design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, STAAD Pro (for structural analysis), and MS Office.
• Familiarity with Indian and international electrical codes (IEC, IS, IEEE).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, grid compliance requirements, and energy yield assessment.
• Proficiency in preparing BOQ, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
• Experience with design optimization for CAPEX and OPEX savings.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Adaptability to emerging solar technologies and innovations.
