Job Description

Salesforce Developer (Contract Position)

Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 6 months initial contract

Location: Richmond Hill, ON, CA

Must be eligible to work in Canada

4 days onsite RH and maybe 1-2 days in Mississauga office, interchange

Roles and responsibilities:

The Salesforce Developer plays a key technical role within the team, focused on the development and innovation of Salesforce solutions to support strategic sales and business initiatives. This role is responsible for building scalable, code-based enhancements that improve system performance, unlock new capabilities, and drive long-term Salesforce innovation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Apex, Lightning, integrations, and system architecture to help elevate Salesforce as a powerful digital headquarters for the client's sales team.

Salesforce Development & Architecture (60%)

  • Design and implement custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, Flow, and Visualforce.
  • Develop scalable applications and features to support enterprise-level projects (e.g., Opportunity Management, Rev Intel, Sales Engagement, Service Cloud Voice).
  • Build and maintain integrations with other systems (e.g., Alpha, Power BI, Vonage, Klue, Highspot).
  • Optimize performance of existing Salesforce features and conduct technical refactoring as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT partners and the SFDC admin team to establish system architecture best practices.

Innovation & Strategic Execution (20%)

  • Proactively identify opportunities for innovation within Salesforce.
  • Partner with Enablement, BI, Marketing, and Sales to bring strategic initiatives to life (e.g., AI-powered workflows, dealer onboarding automations).
  • Stay current with Salesforce release updates and recommend new features or tools to adopt.
  • Support long-term initiatives in roadmap documents (e.g., Smart Sales Enablement Roadmap).

Support & Collaboration (20%)

  • Act as the escalation point for complex Salesforce issues that cannot be resolved by system administrators.
  • Troubleshoot advanced problems involving custom code, integrations, or system performance

Provide guidance and technical support to the CRM support team when deeper development expertise is required.

  • Participate in sprint planning and intake meetings to scope and estimate development work.
  • Contribute to intake frameworks and prioritize backlog items in partnership with stakeholders.

Knowledge / Skill Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Flow Builder
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and middleware integrations
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, governor limits, and performance tuning
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Copado, Gearset) and source control
  • Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Must have skill/experience/qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce deployments or major business process overhauls
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II or Architect certifications a strong asset

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Salesforce Developer certification required
