<p><strong>Senior Technical Account Manager — Kubernetes / DevSecOps (Federal Platform)</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Remote (U.S.) | Washington, DC Metro Area preferred<br><strong>Clearance: </strong>Active TS/SCI preferred (or eligible to obtain)</p> <p><strong>Why This Role Matters</strong></p> <p>You’ll operate as a customer-facing technical advisor supporting a Kubernetes-based DevSecOps platform used in Department of Defense (DoD) environments.</p> <p>This role is focused on helping teams successfully onboard, adopt, and scale modern platform services in Kubernetes-based environments—not building the platform itself.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <p><strong>Lead Customer Engagement<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>Guide customer conversations as a technical advisor, helping teams understand platform capabilities and onboarding paths</li> <li>Translate Kubernetes, cloud, and DevSecOps concepts into clear, actionable guidance for mixed technical audiences</li> <li>Build trust quickly and operate as a reliable partner to customer stakeholders</li> </ul> <p><strong>Drive Platform Adoption</strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as the primary driver of platform adoption and correct usage across customer teams.</li> <li>Assess technical fit and recommend appropriate platform services (e.g., Kubernetes-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, hardened container ecosystems)</li> <li>Actively guide customers from initial onboarding through sustained usage and expansion</li> <li>Identify and address adoption blockers, improving how teams use the platform in practice</li> </ul> <p><strong>Enable &amp; Educate</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deliver workshops, demos, and working sessions to accelerate customer understanding and usage</li> <li>Gather user feedback and translate insights into improved adoption and experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>Operate with Discipline</strong></p> <ul> <li>Track customer activity and technical exploration using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and CRM systems</li> <li>Maintain clear documentation and follow-through across engagements</li> </ul> <p><strong>What This Role Is — and Is Not</strong></p> <p><strong>This role is:<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>A customer-facing technical leadership role</li> <li>Focused on platform adoption, enablement, and outcomes</li> <li>A bridge between engineering, product, and mission users</li> </ul> <p><strong>This role is not:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A backend engineering or build-only position</li> <li>A ticket-based support role</li> <li>A pure sales or quota-carrying role</li> <li>A fit for candidates without prior customer-facing technical experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>What Success Looks Like (First 60 Days)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Quickly establish credibility and operate independently in customer-facing environments</li> <li>Independently guide onboarding and platform fit decisions</li> <li>Identify and help resolve early adoption challenges</li> <li>Begin influencing how customers use and expand platform services</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring (Capability + Credibility)</strong></p> <p>We’re looking for candidates who can perform in this role and have demonstrated similar work in practice.<strong><br></strong></p> <p><strong>Core Capabilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Working with Kubernetes in production environments, including direct involvement in system operations, support, or platform usage</li> <li>Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in real-world environments</li> <li>Ability to independently lead customer-facing technical discussions and guide platform adoption decisions</li> <li>Proven ability to operate across engineering, product, and non-technical stakeholders</li> </ul> <p><strong>Credibility Signals</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience independently leading customer-facing technical discussions</li> <li>Operate in customer-facing technical roles with direct ownership of engagements (e.g., TAM, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Field Engineer)</li> <li>Track record of personally driving customer outcomes (e.g., onboarding success, platform adoption, usage growth)</li> <li>Guide teams through real-world platform adoption or transformation efforts, including navigating technical and organizational challenges</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Background in regulated or security-focused environments (e.g., federal, DoD, financial services, healthcare, or similarly complex domains)</li> <li>Familiarity with Kubernetes platforms or distributions (e.g., Rancher, EKS, AKS, OpenShift)</li> <li>Hands-on use of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)</li> <li>Exposure to DevSecOps practices at scale, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software delivery workflows</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Rackner<br></strong></p> <p>Rackner is a trusted partner delivering cloud-native platforms, DevSecOps solutions, and AI/ML systems across the public sector.
