<p><strong>Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Multi-Cloud | Top Secret | DevSecOps)</strong></p> <p><strong>Hybrid:</strong> Charlottesville, VA / Fort Belvoir, VA (within ~100 miles; periodic on-site presence required)<strong><br>Clearance: </strong>Active Top Secret (SCI Eligible Required)</p> <p><strong>Why This Role Matters</strong></p> <p>At Rackner, we don’t just deploy infrastructure: we engineer secure, mission-critical cloud platforms that power national security programs.</p> <p>This role is part of a competitive, high-visibility effort supporting a leading federal AI and multi-cloud initiative; meaning your impact is immediate and measurable.</p> <p>As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Own and shape secure multi-cloud environments (Azure + AWS)</li> <li>Design and enforce Azure Landing Zones and cloud governance at scale</li> <li>Build hardened, compliant infrastructure aligned to DoD standards</li> <li>Operate as a technical leader across DevSecOps, platform engineering, and cloud architecture</li> </ul> <p>This is not a support role.&nbsp;This is platform ownership in a regulated, high-impact environment.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own Azure Landing Zone architecture — design, implement, and enforce governance policies across environments</li> <li>Engineer secure multi-cloud platforms integrating Azure and AWS (networking, DNS, TLS, identity, access)</li> <li>Deploy Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) across production systems using CI/CD and GitOps methodologies</li> <li>Containerize and scale systems using Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) for resilient, repeatable deployments</li> <li>Harden infrastructure (Azure VMs, cloud services) to meet STIG and DoD compliance requirements</li> <li>Drive technical decisions across platform architecture, performance, and scalability</li> <li>Collaborate across engineering, DevSecOps, and mission stakeholders to deliver secure, production-ready systems</li> </ul> <div class="p-rich_text_section"><strong>What You Bring</strong></div> <div class="p-rich_text_section"> <p><strong>Must-Have Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>7+ years building cloud-based software systems in secure government environments</li> <li>Proven ownership of Azure Landing Zones (design, implementation, policy enforcement)</li> <li>Hands-on Terraform experience in production (CI/CD pipelines, automation, GitOps)</li> <li>2+ years Kubernetes experience (AKS, EKS, or similar) in production environments</li> <li>Multi-cloud experience (Azure + AWS) including networking (VPC/VNet, DNS, TLS)</li> <li>Experience implementing cloud security, STIG compliance, and hardened infrastructure</li> <li>Security+ (IAT Level II) and at least one cloud certification (Azure or AWS)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with AWS Direct Connect / advanced networking</li> <li>Familiarity with Crossplane or platform engineering frameworks</li> <li>Updated Azure/AWS certifications</li> <li>Experience operating in DevSecOps / mission-critical DoD environments</li> </ul> </div> <p><strong>What You’ll Gain</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ownership at the platform level — not just execution</li> <li>Direct impact on national security and AI-driven federal programs</li> <li>Exposure to multi-cloud architecture at scale (Azure + AWS)</li> <li>Opportunity to shape cloud governance, security, and infrastructure standards</li> <li>Continuous investment in your growth through fully funded certifications and training</li> <li>A high-trust environment where technical judgment and decision-making matter</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Rackner</strong></p> <p>Rackner is a fast-growing consultancy trusted for innovation, execution, and impact across startups, enterprises, and the public sector.
