We're hiring a DevOps Production Support Engineer for one of our clients, an investment bank based in Montreal.

Role Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Production Support Engineer to join a team focused on automating day-to-day processes and enhancing platform efficiency. In this role, you will champion a DevOps mindset, driving continuous improvement through the design and implementation of automated solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Provide 24/7 L1/L2 global support to ensure high availability of the DevOps platform.
  • Strategic Planning: Define and execute strategies for monitoring, capacity management, and production readiness.
  • Automation & Deployment: Manage new releases, patches, and automated test cycles to ensure robust platform performance.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee phased deliveries, from initial design documentation to final rollout, ensuring technical specifications are met.
  • Incident Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues under pressure and restore services promptly.

Required Technical Expertise

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in production support or a related technical role.
  • Toolchain Administration: Expertise in administering and configuring tools such as Artifactory, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira, Nexus IQ, SonarQube, and TeamCity.
  • Infrastructure & Systems: Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix (and Windows) and a solid understanding of firewalls, network protocols, and load balancing.
  • Monitoring: Proficiency in managing tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace.
  • Automation & Scripting: Demonstrable coding skills in Python, Bash, or Perl, with experience using Ansible/Ansible Tower and Jenkins.
  • Security & Cloud: Knowledge of authentication protocols, security vaults (CyberArk/Vault), and PaaS solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Containers: Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Databases: Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle, or NoSQL environments.
  • Methodology: Strong grasp of Agile frameworks, ITIL4 Foundation, and the full application lifecycle.
  • Legacy Migrations: Experience transitioning from legacy platforms to modern, evolved solutions.
