Job Description
Logistics Operations Manager
Full-Time | High-Performance Role
Since 1994, we’ve served Washington, DC’s most demanding clients—DoD, global corporations, and high-end residential customers. We operate in a results-driven environment where execution matters, details matter, and there’s no room for missed steps.
We’re looking for a take-charge Logistics Operations Manager who can control operations, maximize every mile, and make smart decisions under pressure—while never compromising safety or compliance.
The Impact You’ll Make
You are the control center of long-haul operations. You don’t wait for direction—you assess, decide, and execute. Your job is to keep trucks moving, eliminate inefficiencies, and ensure every load is planned, staffed, and delivered safely, legally, and profitably.
What You’ll Do
Take Control of Operations
- Evaluate shipments and make fast, informed decisions—take it, fix it, or walk away
- Build load plans that maximize utilization, minimize downtime, and protect margins
- Aggressively source backhauls and new opportunities—no empty miles
Execute Under Pressure
- Anticipate problems and adjust in real time
- Solve issues before they impact the customer or the schedule
- Keep operations moving—no excuses, no delays
Own Communication
- Be the point person for customers, crews, and partners
- Deliver clear, direct updates and handle issues head-on
- Build relationships that keep freight and opportunities flowing
Enforce Safety & Compliance
- Ensure every move meets DOT regulations and company standards—no shortcuts
- Monitor fleet readiness, maintenance, and tracking systems
- Make decisions that protect the operation, the team, and the company
Drive Accountability
- Oversee planners, dispatchers, and support staff
- Set expectations and hold the team to them
- Eliminate inefficiencies and raise performance across the board
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years of logistics, transportation, military, or equivalent experience
- A no-excuses, take-ownership mindset
- The ability to make decisions quickly and stand behind them
- Strong problem-solving skills—you find solutions, not roadblocks
- A firm commitment to safety, compliance, and doing things right
- Clear, direct communication and strong organizational control
- Comfort with systems, data, and operational tools
- HHG/relocation experience is a plus
Why You’ll Love It Here
- Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses
- 401(k) with company match
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- Tuition reimbursement
- PTO
- A role where you have real control over outcomes—not just responsibilities
