Role overview

This position is part of the Engineering job family in Doha, Qatar. The Aircraft Mechanic for the Galley Insert Shop (Avionics Shop) is expected to carry out maintenance and rectification work using approved technical references, internal standards, and established procedures. The role calls for strong technical discipline, safe working practices, and the ability to deliver results within tight timeframes.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete allocated work to a standard that satisfies internal customer expectations.
  • Use the equipment and tools relevant to the workshop to achieve task deadlines.
  • Review and apply information from routine work activities to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Work largely independently on assigned tasks under standard conditions, while meeting productivity targets.
  • Carry out additional departmental duties as assigned by the department head.
  • Follow the company’s health and safety policy at all times.
  • Ensure aircraft component repairs are completed on schedule and in line with QCAA/EASA Part-145 requirements and quality expectations.
  • Deliver assigned work within the required procedures and timelines.
  • Lead by example to encourage and support the team.
  • Make sure all team members are informed about health and safety concerns.

Candidate profile

Qualifications and experience

  • High school qualification, vocational qualification, diploma, or an equivalent credential, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree or equivalent diploma/license in aircraft maintenance.
  • Basic ICAO Type II license.
  • Trade-related certificates and/or OEM component training.
  • Basic knowledge of soldering and EWIS.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience working on galley insert workshop components such as ovens, air chillers, freezers, trash compactors, and beverage makers.
  • Trade reinforcement training.
  • Recognized aeronautical or technical training certificates.
  • Practical capability in the workshop area or 1 year of experience in a similar workshop within a recognized airline.
