As an Office Support Specialist, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Adherence to OGC Hold Policies through asset lifecycle
  • Termination PC collection
  • Coordination of courier activities for return pickups
  • Escalation of individuals who do not provide information / return PC
  • Monthly and periodic asset inventory reconciliations for GTA offices
  • New image, OS Upgrade and patching testing
  • Coordination / return of lease end equipment
  • Coordination / disposal of owned equipment and e-recycling
  • Assume responsibility for on-site technology support
  • Work to resolve any incidents on a timely basis; this may involve after-hours support
  • Provide after-hours support as required
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and 2nd/3rd level support staff (external vendors, users, IT staff, and Global support teams) as well as end-users
  • Quickly grasp new technologies and share knowledge openly including contributing to knowledge repositories
  • Contribute to and participate in the delivery of customer education programs, communicating technical information appropriate to audiences at varying computer skill levels
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and listening skills to liaise with local stakeholders and understand and improve their technology experience

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

  • Technical experience supporting hardware and stand-alone and networked applications in a large environment.
  • Experience in asset management processes and procedures
  • Experience with procedures for incident, request and asset management as outlined by the organization and ITIL methodology to achieve desired SLA and KPI results
  • Experience using data analytics, automation and scripting applications is highly beneficial
  • Experience supporting a variety of audio-video and video conference equipment is an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, time-management and interpersonal skills
  • Data analytics and scripting for process improvement
  • Windows, Mac, iOS and Android operating systems
  • Laptop and Printer troubleshooting and repair
  • Office productivity tools, Google apps preferred (document, spreadsheet and presentation software)
  • Good Understanding of Active Directory and Windows Server management including applying OS and security updates
  • The ability to obtain Government of Canada Reliability clearance, which includes fingerprinting
  • Experience with procedures for incident, request and asset management as outlined by the organization and ITIL methodology to achieve desired SLA and KPI results
  • As a requirement, a Security Clearance is mandatory for all staff who'll be engaged on these assignments.
