Job Title: Locum Paediatric Dysphagia Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: Band 6
Location: Frimley
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £24.00–£32.00 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Paediatric Dysphagia Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist service in Frimley. This is an exciting locum opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist with expertise in paediatric dysphagia assessment and management.

In this role, you will work with children and young people presenting with a range of speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions, supporting children and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric dysphagia and feeding difficulties in line with professional guidelines and competencies.
• Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and intervention for children with communication and swallowing needs.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans tailored to each child's needs.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, education staff, and multidisciplinary teams to support effective care planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HCPC and local service standards.
• Contribute to case discussions, reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide advice, training, and support to parents, carers, and other professionals where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• Current HCPC registration.
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Previous experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist within paediatric services.
• Demonstrable experience and competency in the assessment and management of paediatric dysphagia.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
