Job Title: Consultant – Adult Psychiatry
Grade: Consultant
Location: Havant, Hampshire
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our NHS client’s mental health service in Havant, Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape psychiatric care within a well-established multidisciplinary team. The role is available on a locum basis with an immediate start and offers competitive rates.
What will your responsibilities be?
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership and oversight for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with complex mental health conditions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to care planning and risk management, and ensure high standards of clinical governance. The role also involves supervising junior medical staff, participating in service development, and engaging with external stakeholders to support integrated care pathways.

Qualifications and Experiences:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise – essential
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry – required
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status – desirable
- Extensive experience in adult mental health services
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills
