Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Copywriter who is equal parts storyteller, strategist, and conceptual thinker—someone who can craft compelling narratives that don’t just communicate ideas but build immersive brand worlds.

This role is ideal for a writer who thrives in both the big-picture and the details: developing overarching story arcs and manifestos while also refining headlines, product copy, client-facing content direction, and the nuances that bring ideas to life.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our clients’ digital assets. In partnership with an Art Director, you will collaborate with a creative team to develop and execute digital assets (web and social) for a national (U.S.) retail client. Success in this role requires comfort working at speed, managing ambiguity, and building content systems that scale across multiple tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Translate creative briefs, promotional strategies, and brand guidelines into

clear, effective, and on-brand copy

across digital channels including web, social, paid media, and retail placements.

  • Partner closely with creative directors, art directors, and strategists to ensure storytelling is seamlessly integrated into visual execution.
  • Develop content direction that

elevates storytelling

through smart, visually driven approaches.

  • Maintain high standards of craft, ensuring accuracy in product copy, attention to detail, and consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Develop tactical content that aligns with clients’ brand identities and marketing objectives.
  • Apply and adapt

established messaging frameworks, tone, and voice

across multiple formats and placements.

  • Skilled in crafting clear, benefit-driven copy that resonates with value-conscious shoppers—balancing brand voice, promotional urgency, and storytelling across digital, social, and in-store channels for high-volume retail campaigns.
  • Interpret and refine

evolving client direction

, helping shape content structure, hierarchy, and messaging when inputs are incomplete.

  • Build and apply

content strategy

when needed, extending a core idea across multiple tactics, placements, and formats.

  • Support video and motion content through scripting, storyboards, and copy direction in collaboration with production teams.
  • Ensure all copy meets brand standards, legal requirements, and production specifications.
  • Present concepts confidently to clients, clearly communicating the thinking behind the work and collaborate directly with them to deepen understanding and strengthen outcomes
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while meeting tight, retail-driven deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education from a portfolio school, advertising, copywriting or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a copywriting role, preferably within an advertising, retail or related environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of digital work.
  • A proven storyteller with the ability to build strong conceptual narratives and connect them across channels.
  • Ability to move fluidly between high-level concepting and detail-oriented execution.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a sharp eye for tone, clarity, and nuance.
  • Experience in agency environments and collaborating with creative and production teams.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
