Job Description

Build Private Practice Skills as an Assessment Coordinator

PsychologyGroup (psychologygroup.ca) is seeking Graduate Students in Psychology for a remote, consultant-based Assessment Coordinator role.

We know the gap between academic theory and the operational side of a clinic can be wide. We’ve designed this role specifically for grad students to gain high-level experience that complements your clinical training while respecting your academic commitments.

How This Experience Benefits You:

  • Private Practice Operations: Get a front-row seat to how a tech-forward clinic functions—from intakes to insurance navigation—skills essential for your future career as a clinician.
  • Clinical Communication: Refine your ability to explain complex psychological concepts (ADHD, Psychoeducational, and Gifted assessments) to clients with clarity, warmth, and professionalism.
  • Intake & Triage Experience: Learn the nuances of clinical intake and identifying client needs, managing the "first point of contact" with empathy and clinical insight.
  • Resume-Building Credentials: Add "Assessment Coordinator" to your CV, demonstrating a deep understanding of the administrative lifecycle of psychological testing and patient care coordination.
  • Ultimate Flexibility: This is a fully remote, consultant role designed to fit around your course load, research, and practicum.

The Heart of the Role:

  • Client Guidance: Acting as an informed, empathetic guide for families and individuals starting the assessment journey.
  • Strategic Coordination: Managing the logistics of multi-step assessments and ensuring all documentation is ready for our psychologists.
  • Process Collaboration: We value your academic perspective! Help us refine our workflows to improve the client experience and clinical efficiency.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Current MA/PhD Students: Enrolled in a Psychology program (Clinical, School, Counseling, or related).
  • Empathetic Communicators: You can handle sensitive client inquiries with the warmth and professionalism of a future clinician.
  • Organized Thinkers: You enjoy bringing order to complex schedules and digital files.
