FACULTY RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION – 2026

Applications are invited from eligible and dynamic candidates for Faculty Positions in the following discipline at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (Autonomous), a premier institution dedicated to women’s higher education and research excellence.

Discipline: Mass Communication and Journalism

Positions Available: Head of the Department

Educational Qualification (As per UGC / Bharathiar University Norms):

Ph.D. in the relevant discipline is mandatory for Associate Professor and Professor positions and preferred for Assistant Professor.

Master’s Degree in PhD / Mass Communication / Journalism / Communication Studies / Media Studies or equivalent discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).

Candidates who have cleared hold a Ph.D. (in accordance with UGC Regulations 2018) are eligible to apply.

Experience Required:

Assistant Professor: Minimum 7- 10 years of teaching / research / industry experience with published research in refereed journals, with proven leadership, publications, and research guidance record.

Areas of Specialization (Preferred):

a) Print and Broadcast Journalism

b) Digital and New Media Studies

c) Advertising and Public Relations

d) Audio-Visual and Film Production

e) Communication Theories and Media Research

f) Media Laws, Ethics, and Policy Studies

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Impart quality teaching for Undergraduate programs in Mass Communication and Journalism.
  • Mentor students in academic, media production, and research projects.
  • Develop and update curriculum in line with NEP 2020 and evolving media trends.
  • Engage in active research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present papers at conferences.
  • Coordinate department-level events, workshops, and media outreach programs.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and media houses for internships, guest lectures, and placements.
  • Contribute to institutional initiatives in communication, branding, and knowledge dissemination.
