Job Description
SUMMARY: The Area Sales Manager sells the organization's products to established on & off premise customers, is a champion for new distribution achievements with full list of spirit and ready to drink brands with all customers, and manages all brand building initiatives in territory. The Area Sales Manager reports directly to the Proximo Spirits Canada – Ontario Sales Manager. This individual will activate against organization objectives for distribution, programming initiatives, brand building, ROI and budget expectations, and brand plans.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a territory of retail customers, including key account LCBO and grocery, and independent LCBO Agency and grocery locations, achieving a regular call frequency to achieve distribution targets, executing brand building programs for display and shelf management, and conducting staff and consumer education sessions for awareness and market share in these channels
- Manage a territory of licensee customers, including regional chain and independent accounts, securing distribution in the well and back-bar, achieving new menu placements for strategic cocktails, hosting staff education with and without Brand Ambassador team, all while staying true to channel strategies, scorecard metrics, and segmentation to secure win-win partnerships and grow market share
- Win share of shelf in emerging grocery channel with ready to drink distribution and sales execution, securing flex space, discretionary displays, secondary placements, and building strong relationships with key decision makers
- Within LCBO Convenience Outlet channel, achieves distribution targets, and manages shelf and display priorities for visibility selling the full spirits and ready to drink portfolio
- Create and present winning customer presentations that maximize scorecard ROI for Proximo Spirits Canada in territory, and negotiating with customers within defined brand budget targets
- Use EZ Focus sales data and CRM tool to understand account performance for Proximo Spirits Canada and competitor portfolios, identifying opportunities to increase volume and value, and leverage brand sales to drive portfolio success with all customers
- Generate consumer awareness for Proximo portfolio with staff and consumers through trade shows and throughout the highly influential on & off premise network
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High level of professionalism and 1-2yrs industry experience
- Knowledge of LCBO/AGCO liquor regulations, current market trends and competitive landscape
- Post-secondary education or higher with excellent computer skills and analytics capabilities
- Able to work evening/weekend hours for trade shows, community events, work related travel
- Disciplined sales approach, highly organized, with excellent problem-solving skills, and time management techniques
- Experience managing T&E and brand budgets
- Proficient in Microsoft office programs, and navigating EZ Focus sales reporting
- Possesses strong business acumen, excellent computer skills, and keen negotiating skills
- Possesses ‘Spirit of the Entrepreneur’
