Part Time Pharmacy Technician Role

Support pharmaceutical care at Providence Care Hospital as a part-time Pharmacy Technician. Utilize your expertise to facilitate effective medication distribution and safety protocols.

You will collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacists, executing responsibilities that meet the standards of practice mandated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists. This role involves preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and undertaking medication reconciliation to promote accuracy and safety in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Count, weigh, and mix medications for patient orders
• Distribute controlled substances following proper guidelines
• Prepare sterile compound medications per protocols
• Conduct medication history interviews for admission processes
• Oversee inventory management and records maintenance

Requirements

• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T.) in Ontario
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Familiarity with NAPRA standards and OCP regulations
• Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities
• Strong commitment to patient safety and care
