Senior Security Installation & Service Technician (CCTV & Alarms)
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Senior Security Installation & Service Technician to support commercial and institutional clients across the GTA. This role focuses on the installation, service, and integration of advanced electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarms.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, hands-on field experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with project and service teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, service, and troubleshoot CCTV/IP camera systems (I-PRO, Hanwha, Bosch)
- Install and maintain access control systems (Genetec, ICT, Kantech, Bosch, Gallagher)
- Service intrusion alarm systems (Bosch, DSC, Paradox)
- Configure and support VMS platforms (Milestone, Genetec, Exacq)
- Terminate and test low-voltage cabling (Panduit, Leviton)
- Perform diagnostics, firmware updates, and preventative maintenance
- Provide on-site and remote technical support
- Assist with system design and layout planning
- Manage small to medium projects under PM supervision
- Maintain accurate service and installation documentation
- Train clients on system operation and basic maintenance
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience installing and servicing electronic security systems
- Strong knowledge of IP networking and low-voltage systems
- Experience in commercial or enterprise security environments
- Ability to read schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Certifications/training in Genetec, Milestone, Bosch, ICT, or Kantech (required)
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and ability to travel within the GTA
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check required due to secure client environments
- Ability to safely climb ladders and handle installation equipment
- Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Experience in construction environments is an asset
- Locksmithing knowledge is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $75,000 – $82,000 per year
Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
