Job Description
We are seeking an experienced EMC Engineering Delegate (DAD/DAR) to join its aerospace engineering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for demonstrating and approving compliance to applicable airworthiness requirements related to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Acting under delegated authority from Transport Canada, you will support certification activities and ensure aircraft systems are protected against EMI, HIRF, lightning, and ESD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Transport Canada Delegated Authority (DAD or DAR) for EMC compliance
- Review, approve, and sign compliance documentation, including test reports, analyses, and certification plans
- Interpret and apply certification regulations such as TCCA, FAA, and EASA
- Lead compliance demonstration activities, including test witnessing, analysis validation, and conformity assessments
- Assess and approve qualification documentation related to RF susceptibility, RF emissions, lightning effects, ESD, and magnetic effects
- Support certification planning, engineering changes, repairs, and continued airworthiness activities
- Interface directly with Transport Canada and other certification authorities
- Mentor engineers on certification requirements and compliance expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 8–10+ years of EMC engineering experience in the aerospace industry
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, Transport Canada DAD or DAR delegation in EMC
- Experience with Part 25 (or equivalent) certification programs
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems integration
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, signal integrity, transmission lines, antennas, and propagation
- Familiarity with standards such as DO-160, SAE ARPs, FAA ACs, and TCCA policies
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as EMA3D is a plus
