The Prince George’s County Redevelopment Authority is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Real Estate DevelopmentProject and Program Manager, (Community Developer 4A)grade A27 position, in the Real Estate Development and Special Projects division.
About the Position
This is a professional-level position within the Redevelopment Authority (RDA) that supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of County and RDA real estate development projects. Under the supervision of senior management, the incumbent assists with project management, due diligence, consultant oversight, land use coordination, and procurement activities. Work requires effective coordination with County agencies, developers, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders.
About the Agency
The Redevelopment Authority develops, redevelops, revitalizes, and preserves targeted communities with an emphasis on communities within the Beltway in support of the County Executive’s priorities of community development, transit-oriented development, and affordable housing.
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of redevelopment projects involving County-owned and RDA-owned real estate.
- Conducts research related to deeds, plats, surveys, appraisals, zoning, land use, and other real estate records.
- Assists with due diligence, project feasibility, and property acquisition or disposition activities.
- Coordinates with County agencies, consultants, developers, and community stakeholders regarding project requirements and schedules.
- Prepares requisitions and assists with procuring professional services, including appraisals, surveys, environmental, planning, engineering, and construction-related services.
- Monitors consultant and contractor performance and assists with reviewing project deliverables.
- Assists with preparing RFPs, RFQs, scopes of work, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Maintains project files, schedules, and status reports, and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years of responsible professional technical, analytical, and developmental work experience with at least one (1) year in a lead/supervisory role.
Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered. Please note there is no equivalency for supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of information sources and research methods particularly in the fields of physical, social, and/or economic community development, as well as human group behavior, depending upon the division to which assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of administrative interrelationships particular to those federal, state and local agencies which are currently funding or controlling the funding of community development programs
- Ability to coordinate multiple real estate development projects and assignments under the direction of senior management.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with County agencies, developers, consultants, contractors, and the public.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and procedures related to real estate development, land use, zoning, permitting, and procurement.
- Ability to prepare clear reports, correspondence, recommendations, and presentations.
- Ability to monitor consultants and contractors and maintain project files, schedules, and tracking systems.
- Ability to attend evening and weekend meetings and site visits and possess a valid driver’s license.

- Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties.
- Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings.
- Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
