Job Description
Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility based in Olney, MD 20832
. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Location: Olney, MD 20832
Schedule: 1st shift Mon-Fri - 8 am-04:30 pm (40hr/ week)
Pay Range: $20-$25/hr (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume
Responsibilities
- Experience doing blood draws, labelling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
- Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
- Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels and follows different procedures as outlined by specific protocols deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience is required.
