About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freelance IP-PBX / VoIP Installation Engineer for a short-term, project-based deployment. You will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and testing our client’s IP-PBX communication system to ensure seamless internal and external connectivity.
If you are a self-starter with deep expertise in network routing, SIP trunking, and voice architecture, we want to work with you.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Setup: On-site deployment and rack-mounting of IP-PBX hardware/servers, IP phones, and gateways.
- Configuration: Configure extensions, IVR (Interactive Voice Response), call routing, ring groups, voicemail-to-email, and time-based routing rules.
- Network Integration: Manage SIP trunk authentication, VLAN tagging for voice traffic, and QoS (Quality of Service) configurations on routers/switches to ensure crystal-clear voice quality.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough end-to-end call testing, debug audio/jitter issues, and verify firewall rules for secure remote connectivity.
- Handover: Provide basic admin/user training to the client and deliver a concise deployment sheet (IP schemas, extension lists, and password credentials).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on Experience: Proven track record of deploying major IP-PBX platforms (e.g., Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Grandstream, Yeastar, or OpenScape).
- Networking Fundamentals: Strong understanding of IPv4 networking, DHCP, DNS, NAT traversal, and firewall configuration.
- Protocols: In-depth knowledge of SIP, RTP, and various voice codecs (G.711, G.729, etc.).
- Hardware Familiarity: Experience configuring IP endpoints from brands like Yealink, Grandstream, Fanvil, or Cisco.
- Problem Solver: Ability to independently troubleshoot network bottlenecks and SIP registration errors on-site.
