Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Full-Time – Georgetown, DC
Posey Lebowitz PLLC, a boutique litigation firm located in Georgetown, is seeking a bright, motivated Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate who is eager to work hard, develop strong litigation skills, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced law firm environment.
We handle a range of plaintiffs' personal injury and commercial litigation cases, and we're looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and ready to take ownership of important casework from day one.
What You’ll Do:
- Gather, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, and other critical case documents
- Assist attorneys in drafting and reviewing legal documents, settlement demands, and court filings
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their medical treatment, case progress, and needs
- Maintain well-organized and up-to-date electronic case files
- Support the legal team in all phases of case development and litigation
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and general office technology
- Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and juggle multiple cases and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail – accuracy matters in everything you do
- A proactive, self-driven attitude – we value team members who take initiative and move cases forward without being micromanaged
