TECHNICAL SALES SPECIALIST – EMC & RF TEST SOLUTIONS

We support EMC laboratories, aerospace & defense organizations, automotive manufacturers, medical device companies, telecommunications providers, research institutions, and calibration facilities with practical solutions for conducted emissions, radiated emissions, immunity testing, EMC troubleshooting, and standards-based compliance programs.
Role Description
PlanarRF is seeking a motivated Technical Sales Specialist – EMC & RF Test Solutions to support the growth of our business across Canada and North America.
This is a full-time remote or hybrid position with responsibility for supporting customers across North America. The role includes occasional travel for customer visits, industry events, training, and trade shows.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop new business opportunities and support existing customer accounts
- Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through quotation, negotiation, and order closure
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical recommendations
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide pre-sales and post-sales support
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, activities, forecasts, and customer interactions within the CRM system
- Participate in customer visits, trade shows, webinars, and industry events
- Help expand PlanarRF's presence within the EMC, aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, telecommunications, and industrial electronics sectors
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales related to EMC test equipment, RF measurement equipment, compliance testing solutions, power amplifiers, antennas, spectrum analyzers, or related test and measurement technologies.
- Degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Physics, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Customer-focused mindset with a consultative and solution-oriented sales approach
- Experience using CRM and productivity tools
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling EMC compliance solutions, EMC test systems, RF measurement solutions, or other technical test and measurement solutions is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with EMC standards and test methods including CISPR, IEC 61000 series, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, FCC, or related requirements
- Existing relationships within EMC laboratories, aerospace & defense organizations, automotive manufacturers, medical device companies, research institutions, calibration laboratories, or industrial electronics markets
