Telecommunications Field Technician

Our client, a prominent telecommunications service provider, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Telecommunications Field Technician to join their expanding team in **Indore, Madhya Pradesh, IN**. This role is crucial for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems and equipment at customer premises and network infrastructure sites. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, enjoys hands-on work, and possesses excellent problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, activate, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, switches, and fiber optic systems. Perform site surveys and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and configuration. Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with voice, data, and video services. Repair or replace faulty equipment and components. Run and terminate cables, including fiber optic and copper wiring. Test network connectivity and signal strength to ensure optimal performance. Educate customers on the use of installed equipment and services. Adhere to all safety guidelines and company procedures during field operations. Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls using mobile devices or company systems. Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Collaborate with dispatch and support teams to ensure efficient service delivery. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor. Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or equipment to customers. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on new technologies and products. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, meeting company quality metrics.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCT) are highly preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance, or repair. Strong understanding of telecommunications principles and equipment. Proficiency in using testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal meters. Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing is a significant advantage. Knowledge of network protocols and cabling standards. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
