Senior Telecoms Field Technician

Our client, a prominent telecommunications provider, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their operational team. This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring seamless service delivery to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This position is based in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN , and requires extensive on-site work.

Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, routers, switches, and base stations. Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on network infrastructure. Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Document all work performed, including installation details, test results, and repair logs. Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical problems. Provide technical support and guidance to customers on-site when necessary. Operate and maintain company vehicles and specialized tools and equipment safely. Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies, reporting needs for replenishment. Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including those related to working at heights or in confined spaces. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Telecoms Field Technician or in a similar role. Proven experience with fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing. Strong understanding of telecommunications network principles, protocols, and equipment. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
