Senior Social Worker

Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Social Worker to join their dedicated team in **Kolkata, West Bengal, IN**. This position plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support and advocacy for individuals and families facing complex social challenges. You will assess client needs, develop intervention plans, connect clients with community resources, and provide direct counseling and support services. This role demands a strong understanding of social work principles, ethical practices, and local support systems.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough assessments of client needs, identifying social, emotional, and environmental challenges. Develop and implement individualized care and intervention plans in collaboration with clients and their families. Provide direct social work services, including counseling, crisis intervention, and supportive guidance. Connect clients with appropriate community resources, services, and agencies, facilitating access and referrals. Advocate for clients' rights and needs within various systems, including legal, medical, and educational settings. Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting all client interactions, progress, and interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and legal advisors. Provide case management services, ensuring continuity of care and follow-up. Organize and facilitate support groups and educational workshops for clients and the community. Mentor and supervise junior social workers and interns, providing guidance and professional development. Stay current with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work. Contribute to program development and policy recommendations to improve social services. Respond to crisis situations with sensitivity and appropriate action.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of professional social work experience. Registration or licensure as required by local regulations is essential. Demonstrated experience in case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy is required. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills are crucial for building rapport with diverse client populations.
