Our client, a prestigious investment bank renowned for its expertise in M&A advisory and capital markets, is seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Investment Banking Analyst to join their team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, IN . This role is critical in supporting senior bankers on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of the deal process, from initial client pitches and financial modeling to due diligence and transaction execution. You will develop sophisticated financial models, conduct in-depth valuation analyses, prepare compelling marketing materials, and perform extensive industry research. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain complex financial models, including DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, and comparable company analyses. Prepare comprehensive financial presentations, pitch books, and memorandums for client meetings and transaction marketing. Conduct thorough valuation analyses to determine optimal deal structures and pricing for M&A and capital raising transactions. Perform in-depth industry and market research to identify potential clients, targets, and investment opportunities. Assist in the execution of transactions, including managing due diligence processes, coordinating with legal counsel, and liaising with other advisors. Support senior bankers in client relationship management and business development activities. Analyze financial statements, identify key drivers, and assess the financial health and strategic positioning of companies. Monitor market trends and economic conditions that may impact clients and transactions. Work collaboratively with deal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project components. Contribute to the training and mentorship of junior analysts within the team.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or CFA is a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or a related analytical field. Exceptional proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and data analysis using Excel and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of corporate finance principles, capital markets, and M&A processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Superior attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
