Our client, a leader in sustainable agriculture and organic farming practices, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Farm Manager for their operations in Thane, Maharashtra, IN . This role is essential for overseeing all aspects of organic crop production, ensuring high yields, and maintaining the integrity of organic certification standards. You will be responsible for crop planning, soil management, pest and disease control using organic methods, irrigation, and harvest management. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of organic farming principles, strong leadership skills, and a practical, hands-on approach to farm operations. You will manage a farm team, optimize resource utilization, and contribute to the overall success and sustainability of the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive annual crop production plans, focusing on organic methods. Oversee all daily farm operations, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting. Manage and maintain soil health through appropriate organic fertilization and crop rotation techniques. Ensure strict adherence to all organic certification standards and record-keeping requirements. Supervise, train, and motivate a team of farm laborers and supervisors. Manage farm equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and operation. Monitor crop progress and health, implementing timely interventions as needed. Oversee the efficient use of water and other farm resources. Contribute to the planning and implementation of new farming technologies and sustainable practices. Maintain accurate farm records related to planting, treatments, yields, and expenses. Liaise with suppliers and buyers, ensuring quality control and timely delivery of produce. Ensure a safe working environment for all farm staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management, with a strong focus on organic farming practices. In-depth knowledge of organic crop production, soil science, and integrated pest management (IPM). Experience with organic certification processes and regulatory requirements. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong understanding of farm machinery operation and maintenance. Excellent organizational, planning, and record-keeping abilities. Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly farming methods.
