Our client, a forward-thinking educational institution, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Educational Technology Specialist to enhance teaching and learning through the strategic integration of technology. Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba , this role involves collaborating with faculty and staff to identify pedagogical needs, select and implement appropriate digital tools and platforms, and provide comprehensive training and support. You will play a key role in shaping the educational experience by fostering digital literacy and leveraging technology to create engaging and effective learning environments. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, pedagogical understanding, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities: Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and implement technology-enhanced curriculum and instructional strategies. Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new educational technologies and platforms to support diverse learning needs. Provide training, workshops, and ongoing support to faculty and staff on the effective use of learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and resources for educational technology tools. Troubleshoot technical issues related to educational software and hardware, escalating complex problems as needed. Stay current with emerging trends and research in educational technology and digital learning. Contribute to the development and implementation of institutional policies related to educational technology use. Participate in departmental and institutional projects related to instructional design and technology integration. Assess the effectiveness of implemented technologies and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Advise on best practices for online course design, digital accessibility, and student engagement in blended and online learning environments. Support the integration of multimedia resources and digital assessment tools. Assist in the management and maintenance of educational technology infrastructure. Promote a culture of innovation and effective technology use within the institution. Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure seamless technology operations. Mentor junior technology support staff. Qualifications: Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in educational technology support, instructional design, or a similar role within an academic setting. In-depth knowledge of learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) and common educational software. Strong understanding of pedagogical principles and how technology can enhance teaching and learning. Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in developing training materials and delivering effective workshops. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with multimedia development tools and digital accessibility standards (WCAG). Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Project management skills are an asset. Experience with data analytics related to learning platform usage is a plus.
