Our client, a leading insurance provider, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Claims Adjuster specializing in Property claims to join their team in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, IN . This is a critical on-site role requiring extensive field work to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate property damage claims arising from various events such as natural disasters, fire, theft, and other insured perils. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of property insurance policies, construction methods, and damage assessment techniques. You will be responsible for ensuring fair and timely claim settlements while upholding the company's reputation for excellent customer service and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigating property damage claims thoroughly by inspecting damage sites, interviewing claimants, witnesses, and involved parties. Evaluating coverage under various property insurance policies, interpreting policy language, and determining claim validity. Assessing the extent of property damage and estimating repair or replacement costs using industry-standard software and guidelines. Negotiating settlements with claimants and their representatives in a fair and efficient manner. Managing a caseload of property claims from initial contact through to final settlement. Documenting all claim activities, findings, and decisions accurately in the claims management system. Identifying potential subrogation or salvage opportunities. Collaborating with internal departments, such as underwriting and legal, as needed. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations, industry best practices, and construction trends. Providing clear and concise communication to claimants regarding claim status, coverage, and settlement offers. Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Relevant insurance designations (e.g., AIC, CPCU) are highly desirable. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in property claims adjusting is required. Proven experience in handling complex property claims is essential. Strong knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and estimating software (e.g., Xactimate) is mandatory. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills are crucial. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and convey information effectively, are necessary. A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel within the assigned territory for inspections are required.
