Responsibilities

Lead and manage research projects from early-stage discovery through preclinical development. Design and execute complex experiments to identify and validate novel drug targets and therapeutic agents. Develop and optimize synthetic routes for small molecules and other potential drug candidates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, toxicologists, and clinical development specialists, to advance research programs. Interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and make critical decisions regarding research direction. Author and review scientific publications, patents, and regulatory submissions. Mentor and guide junior scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment. Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, therapeutic areas, and competitor activities in the pharmaceutical industry. Contribute to the strategic planning of the R&D pipeline and the identification of new research opportunities. Manage external collaborations with academic institutions and CROs. Ensure compliance with all safety, ethical, and regulatory guidelines. Present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences. Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical R&D, with a significant focus on drug discovery and development. Demonstrated success in leading research projects and delivering key milestones. Extensive knowledge of drug discovery processes, including target identification, lead optimization, and preclinical assessment. Expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, analytical techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC), and various biological assays. Strong understanding of disease biology and therapeutic areas relevant to pharmaceutical development. Excellent scientific leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills. Proven ability to publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and contribute to patent filings. Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts effectively. Experience in managing budgets and external research collaborations is a plus.
