Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Industrial Engineer to lead transformative initiatives within their operations based in Montreal, Quebec, CA . This senior role is critical for optimizing complex systems, processes, and organizational structures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. You will be responsible for diagnosing operational challenges, developing innovative solutions, and implementing strategic improvements across various departments. This includes leading projects related to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, supply chain optimization, facility layout design, and workflow automation. Your expertise will be vital in analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing data-driven strategies to improve throughput, reduce costs, and elevate quality standards. You will mentor and guide junior industrial engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. The Principal Industrial Engineer will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align operational strategies with business goals. Developing business cases, managing project budgets, and ensuring successful implementation of recommendations are key responsibilities. Responsibilities: Lead the design and implementation of operational improvement initiatives. Analyze complex systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimization. Develop and execute strategies for lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Optimize supply chain, production workflows, and facility layouts. Utilize statistical analysis and simulation tools to model and predict process performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to align operational strategies. Develop business cases and project proposals for operational enhancements. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Mentor and guide junior industrial engineers and technical staff. Champion the adoption of new technologies and best practices. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering or operations management. Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and process optimization. Proven experience in leading complex, cross-functional operational improvement projects. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical software and simulation tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational change. Deep understanding of supply chain management and logistics. Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Professional Engineer (PE) designation is a significant asset.
