Our client, a reputable manufacturing organization with a strong presence in the industrial sector, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Plant Manager to lead their facility operations in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, IN . This senior leadership role is instrumental in overseeing all aspects of plant production, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high quality standards, and fostering a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and team leadership, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Oversee all daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet output targets and quality standards. Manage and optimize plant resources, including labor, machinery, materials, and energy, to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental policies, and company standards, fostering a culture of safety awareness. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, production staff, and support personnel, promoting employee engagement and professional growth. Manage the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness. Oversee inventory management, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, ensuring optimal stock levels. Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and efficient distribution of finished products. Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and manage the plant's operational budget, monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and industry standards. Report on plant performance metrics, including production output, efficiency, quality, safety, and costs, to senior management. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Production), Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations management, with at least 3-5 years in a plant management role. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale manufacturing facilities and improving operational performance. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management systems. Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in production planning and control systems, and ERP software. Solid understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industrial best practices. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control. Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills. Effective communication and presentation abilities.
