Lead Structural Engineer

Our client, a highly respected construction firm, is looking for a seasoned Lead Structural Engineer to spearhead critical projects in **Calgary, Alberta, CA**. This role is office-based, providing an opportunity to directly contribute to and oversee complex structural designs from conception to completion. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the structural integrity and safety of all projects. Key duties include performing detailed structural analyses using advanced software, developing design calculations, preparing technical specifications, and reviewing engineering drawings. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to project timelines and budgets. A strong understanding of building codes, relevant standards, and best practices in structural engineering is paramount. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities, a keen eye for detail, and strong leadership qualities. You should be adept at managing project risks and implementing mitigation strategies. This position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the construction industry. Professional Engineer (PE) designation is mandatory. Experience in seismic design and experience with diverse project types, including commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, would be a significant asset.
