Our client, a prominent name in the infrastructure development sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Civil Construction Manager to oversee major construction projects in and around Mysuru, Karnataka . This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional leadership, project management skills, and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of the construction lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a site-based position requiring full commitment to the project location.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction projects from planning and design through to completion. Develop detailed project schedules, resource allocation plans, and budgets. Manage and coordinate on-site activities of subcontractors, labor, and suppliers. Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards on all project sites. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and workmanship. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients. Manage project documentation, including permits, drawings, and change orders. Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. Resolve any conflicts or issues that arise on the construction site. Implement and enforce company policies and procedures. Lead and mentor site supervisors and construction teams. Ensure efficient use of resources and minimize project waste. Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. Manage contract administration and claims. Maintain a safe and productive working environment for all personnel. Ensure all construction activities comply with engineering designs and specifications. Manage quality assurance and quality control programs. Facilitate effective communication among all project participants.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in civil construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects. Extensive experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and resources. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience in managing subcontractors and a diverse workforce. Must be willing to work on-site in Mysuru and surrounding areas. Experience with earthworks, foundations, structural concrete, and infrastructure is essential. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different project sites as needed.
