Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Agronomist to spearhead sustainable farming initiatives in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, IN . The Lead Agronomist will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced agronomic strategies, overseeing field trials, and providing expert guidance to farming communities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive agronomic plans focusing on sustainable and organic farming practices. Conduct in-depth soil analysis and recommend tailored fertilization and soil improvement strategies. Design and manage field experiments to evaluate new crop varieties, pest control methods, and irrigation techniques. Monitor crop health and provide timely interventions for disease and pest management using integrated pest management (IPM) approaches. Advise farmers on best practices for water management, crop rotation, and cover cropping to enhance soil fertility and reduce erosion. Educate and train local farming communities on sustainable agriculture techniques through workshops and field demonstrations. Research and evaluate the potential of new agricultural technologies, including precision agriculture tools and biotechnology. Collaborate with researchers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture. Analyze market trends and advise on crop selection to maximize profitability while adhering to sustainable principles. Maintain detailed records of farm operations, yield data, and environmental impact assessments. Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and certifications for sustainable agriculture. Mentor junior agronomists and provide technical leadership to the agricultural team. Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in agronomy, with a strong emphasis on sustainable and organic farming. Proven expertise in soil health management, crop nutrition, and pest/disease control. Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting field trials. Excellent understanding of water conservation techniques and irrigation management. Strong knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) and organic farming standards. Experience with precision agriculture technologies is a plus. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and advise farmers. Proficiency in data analysis and report writing. Leadership experience and the ability to manage a team.
