Geological Engineer - Mining Operations

Our client, a leading player in the mining sector, is seeking a highly skilled Geological Engineer to join their operations team. This role is based in Hyderabad and involves contributing to the exploration, evaluation, and extraction of mineral resources. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of geological principles, rock mechanics, and resource estimation techniques. You will work closely with mine planning and production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible mining practices.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct geological surveys, mapping, and data analysis to identify and evaluate mineral deposits. Develop and implement exploration and drilling programs. Perform resource and reserve estimations using industry-standard software. Analyze geotechnical data to assess ground stability and inform mine design. Provide geological input for mine planning, layout, and operational strategies. Monitor geological conditions during mining operations and advise on necessary adjustments. Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and other specialists to optimize extraction processes. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management. Utilize advanced geological software and modeling tools.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related earth science discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological engineering, with a focus on mining operations. Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Vulcan). Strong knowledge of mineral exploration techniques, rock mechanics, and geostatistics. Experience with data analysis and interpretation. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required. Good written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work on-site at mining locations as needed. Based in or willing to relocate to Hyderabad for this office/field-based role.
